A US war veteran is a person who has served in the Armed forces of the US. There are many benefits available to these personnel who are in active duty and have sacrificed themselves for the country. These benefits include military life insurance policies to benefit survivors of veterans, education loans, treatment of all disabilities and other benefits. Some veterans’ insurance policies are only valid for the time during which they are in active service, while others do not have any time limit at all. Pensions can be given to veterans who are disabled, have a limited income and over 65 years of age.
Sometimes, veterans can get a monthly compensation if they are more than 10% disabled and unable to earn an income. There are many health benefits offered to veterans. These benefits can be availed at exclusive war veterans’ hospitals or even at dental clinics, nursing homes, and outpatient services at major hospitals, rehabilitation programs or prosthetic centers. Education and training programs are available for veterans’ for up to ten years after they complete active duty. Home loans, employment assistance and other types of military insurance are provided to veterans to help them lead a normal life after active service is over.
