
The eligible candidate required by the IIM (India Institute of Management) will be selected based on the marks scored in the CAT entrance exam. As there are more than 2.4 lakhs eligible candidates attending the entrance exam after going through vigorous CAT coaching and many other stressful preparations, the results will be the much awaited and makes the person to get selected for the next stage, which is the group discussion. The candidates are selected purely based on the higher marks scored by the individual.
The country has evidenced some tough times during the issue of results, particularly in the year 2006 while lakhs of candidates are eagerly waiting for the results, the error occurred in the software on the webpage has delayed a major portion of the time for the students to know their results. The students waiting for the results has lost their patience and started to protest against the educational board. Even in the year 2003, the leakage of the CAT entrance exam question paper was evidently found, which has made the students to attend the re test conducted by the IIM. It was first time in the history of CAT exams, such an unfortunate incident happened.
