The invention of hot rods took place somewhere in the early 20th century. They became popular during the 1940’s. The invention of the hot rods took place when a few youngsters fiddled around with some of the machines that were then available. The hot rods where made with very less amount of money and they were the best way to own an automobile. They are typically racing cars which are used for competitions. The engines of these cars are customized in such a way so that they provide optimum speed.

The machines have large engines which also help in generating immense power. The cars that were used for racing in the earlier days were modified for the purpose. To modify the vehicle many of the accessories where removed in order to make the vehicle light. Some of the accessories removed were bumpers, tops, hoods, windshields etc. The engines are also at times replaced with powerful ones. To make the vehicle efficient for racing at times even the wheels and tires are also changed. This is done for improved grip and handling of the vehicle while racing. The larger width of the tires would help prevent mishaps.
